Important Alert

Tuesday, April 22, 5:13 pm – NJ American Water is working to resolve an issue with discolored water. Higher levels of sodium permanganate, used to treat water at the Raritan Millstone Water Treatment Plant, have caused a slight pinkish hue in the water in the Bridgewater area.

There is no impact to drinking water quality and the water meets drinking water standards, but you may wish to refrain from doing laundry during this time.

In an effort to help clear the system, NJAW will be flushing hydrants which may result in low pressure and/or discoloration for some customers. If your water is discolored, run the cold water taps only, at the lowest level of the house for about 3 to 5 minutes until the water runs clear.
