April 15 Update
Nighttime milling and paving (Phase 2) will start on or about April 24, 2025.
Phase 2
Dates: Thursday, April 24 and Friday, April 25 (tentative)
Work Hours: 8 pm to 6 am
- Rehill Avenue will be divided into 2 sections, with only 1 section scheduled for work each night
- During working hours, the active work zone will be closed to traffic. The other section will remain open.
- Detours will be posted to guide motorists around the closed area
- Schedule is weather-dependent and the start date may be delayed if there’s any inclement weather.

Construction on Rehill Avenue, between Union Avenue and E. Main Street, is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, March 24, 2025. The work will be completed in 2 phases by the end of May. Dates are tentative, pending weather.
Phase 1
Starting on or about March 24, 2025
Work hours: 7 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday
- Removal and replacement of concrete curb ramps to install new ADA-compliant ramps
- Curbs, sidewalks, and aprons will be replaced in various locations
- Traffic Plan: Road will remain open, but there will be a single-lane alternating traffic pattern in active work zones. Please plan for delays in this area.
Phase 2
Starting on or about April 28, 2025
- Milling the existing roadway and installing a new asphalt surface course
- We will notify residents with further details and instructions, prior to the start of this phase
Funding
In 2023, we appropriated $592,800 for improvements to Rehill Avenue. This includes a $494,800 NJDOT grant and $48,000 Developer Infrastructure Trust Funding.
