Naturalization Ceremony

The Borough is hosting a ceremony for 30 candidates from Somerset County who will be naturalized and sworn in as new United States citizens. They represent 13 different countries. Come out and welcome them!
This special event will feature remarks from Mayor Dennis Sullivan and Commissioner Director Shanel Robinson. The Keynote Speaker is Congressman Tom Malinowski.
Flag Day Country Music Festival

Bring out the entire family for a patriotic night of fun and music, featuring the E-Boro Bandits. This FREE event is hosted by the Somerville Elks Lodge #1068, with collaboration from the Borough of Somerville. Mayor Dennis Sullivan will kick off the event at 6:30 pm, when Old Glory will be raised on the Somerville Fire Department ladder truck.
The festival has something for everyone, with a display of military and rescue vehicles, reenactment demonstrations, a children’s scavenger hunt through the exhibitors, and a salute to all veterans present at the event at around 6:45 pm. A Charity Cornhole Tournament is planned for adults and a Bean Toss Competition for children (ages 6 to 12) to benefit Operation Shoebox NJ. *Inclement Weather
In case of rain, the Flag Day Country Music Festival will be cancelled. However, the Naturalization Ceremony will move indoors to Lincoln Hose Firehouse (34 Warren Street).
