Mayor Dennis
Sullivan and the Somerville Borough Council will join with American Legion Post
12 in the traditional Memorial Day Ceremony at New Cemetery on South Bridge St.
The program will feature historical readings, musical selections, and military
salutes.
Mayor
Sullivan said, “Although the parade will have to wait another year, I am happy
to continue to honor our fallen servicemen and women in this way. Their
personal sacrifice and devotion to America should always be the focus of
attention on this day of reflection.
I look forward to joining the Somerville
community in remembering our nation’s heroic dead.”
The event
will begin at 11:00am. The public is invited, with proper health protocols
being observed.
