In November 2014, the Borough Council designated a portion of the North Side of West Main
Street an “area in need of redevelopment”. The designation stated the newly designated area
on the north of side of West Main Street bounded by Davenport, Doughty and Hunterdon
Streets should be included into the existing West Main Street Redevelopment Area.
This means the existing Redevelopment Plan for the West Main Street Area must be amended
under New Jersey Redevelopment law N.J.S.A. 40A:12A-6.
This is to advise you the Planning Board of the Borough of Somerville will be discussing the
proposed revisions to amend the West Main Street Redevelopment Plan at its May 27th, 2015
scheduled meeting. This discussion will take place during the Public Session.
The location of the meeting is 24 South Bridge Street Somerville (Police Headquarters)
The meeting starts at 7:00 PM.
The planning Board is inviting property owners and the public of this meeting to hear
comments and suggestions as to what the Redevelopment Plan Amendment should allow as it
relates to development and new construction.
We look forward to seeing you at this meeting.
B. Navatto
Chairman of the Somerville Planning Board
