On Wednesday, July 26, NJ American Water contractors started working on N. Gaston Ave, between E. Cliff St and Bartine St. This work is to connect the water supply to the new emergency services building, which is under construction.
This work will continue at night, on Thursday, July 27 and Friday, July 28, from 7 pm to 3 am.
Night work is necessary for worker health and safety from the heat during the daylight hours. The NJ Department of Transportation (NJ DOT) has also mandated that this work take place during nighttime hours to avoid disruption of bus service on Gaston Avenue (Rt 28).
We have asked the contractors to respect the neighbors and to keep the light and noise to a minimum, where possible.
