Mayor Sullivan’s 2023 holiday message

A holiday message from Mayor Dennis Sullivan

Season’s Greetings from Mayor Dennis Sullivan

Dear Somerville Community,

As the seasons change and 2023 fades into history, I extend to all my best wishes for a healthy and happy holiday season. Whether your plans include reconnecting with friends and family through travel, or simply staying at home to observe personal traditions, I hope the days and weeks ahead will be filled with joy shared with those you love most.

As you shop for that perfect gift, assemble the ingredients for that old family recipe, or search the attic and basement for those vintage holiday decorations, please remember those in our community whose holidays may be less festive than our own. If your means allow, donate to a local food bank, participate in a reputable toy or clothing drive, or simply check in on an elderly neighbor. We in Somerville know what really matters in life, and that’s reaching out and showing that we truly care about one another.

Marge and I look forward to seeing you at the many planned upcoming public events, and we hope that the new year brings peace and prosperity to all who fondly call Somerville home. Thank you.
