As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day, please remember:
Holiday schedule
- Borough Hall is closed and garbage collection suspended on Thursday, July 4
- Trash collection will resume, with extra pickup, on Friday, July 5
Fireworks safety
- Ground-based sparkling devices are legal in NJ
- Explosive and aerial fireworks are NOT legal in NJ
- Visit the state website to see the permitted sparkling devices and prohibited fireworks
Report concerns
- Call Somerville Police at 908-725-0331 (non-emergency line) to report illegal fireworks and noise concerns
- Please only call 911 in case of an emergency or life threatening situation
