We’re looking forward to the 9th Annual Somerville 5K Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day! All proceeds from the race will benefit programs, events and facilities offered by Somerville Recreation.

Registration

November 21 November 24 November 28
  • Online registration closes at midnight
  • Last day to be placed on a team
  • Last chance for discounted rates for children under 10
  • Race shirt availability not guaranteed
  • Packet pickup available from 10 am to 1 pm (weather permitting), at the Somerset County Regional Farmers Market (at the Somerville Middle School)
  • Participants can pick up multiple packets (bibs and shirts) for family members and friends
  • Race registration will NOT be available
  • $45 registration fee for all participants (unless in strollers)
  • Cash only (exact change appreciated)
  • Race shirt availability not guaranteed
  • Registration and packet pickup open from 7 to 8:45 am

Engine Company No. 1 (170 E. Main Street, Somerville, NJ 08876)

Schedule

  • 7 am – Check in opens and same-day registration starts
  • 8:45 am – Registration closes
  • 8:45 to 10 am – Rolling road closures (see below)
  • 9 am – Race starts

Parking

  • Free parking will be available at 59 Veterans Memorial Drive East
  • The parking deck entrance is between Warren St. and Hamilton St
  • Please follow the signs directing traffic

Road closures

Residents: Please plan for rolling road closures from 8:45 to 10 am, along the race course, on:

  • Veterans Memorial Drive E
  • S. Bridge Street (between Veterans Memorial Drive E and 5th Street)
  • 5th Street to Center Street to 4th Street to Hamilton Street
  • Southside Avenue (between Hamilton Street and Loeser Avenue)
  • Loeser Avenue
  • Nimitz Street to Watson Street
  • Fairview Avenue to James Street to Main Street (back to Veterans Memorial Drive E)

Race participants and winners

  • Please line up according to speed– the fastest runners should be up front, and walkers, dogs, and strollers towards the rear.
  • Instructions on how to wear bibs correctly
  • View race results
  • The overall M/F winners will each receive a $150 VISA card
  • A trophy will be awarded to the team with the greatest number of participants
  • Medals will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers in the following divisions

We will be collecting donations for the Somerville Alliance for Food Education (SAFE). Please consider bringing non-perishable food items, cleaning supplies and hygiene products.
