All proceeds from the race will benefit programs, events and facilities offered by Somerville Recreation. Next year, we will add inclusive playground elements at 2 of our parks for all to enjoy! Donations are still being accepted.
Location, date and time
- Engine Company No. 1 (170 E. Main Street, Somerville, NJ 08876)
- The race starts at 9 am on Thanksgiving (November 23)
Registration and packets
- Online registration closed on November 17
- Registration and packet pick up will open at 7 am on November 23
- You may register in person, before the race
- from 7 to 8:45 am
- $40, cash only (exact change appreciated)
Shirts
- Shirts will be provided for registrations received by November 17
- Shirts are sold out and will not be provided for same-day registrations
Parking
Free parking will be available at 59 Veterans Memorial Drive East. The parking deck entrance is between Warren St. and Hamilton St. Please follow the signs directing traffic.
Schedule
- 7:00 am – Check in opens and same-day registration starts
- 8:45 am – Registration closes
- 8:45 to 10 am – Rolling road closures (see below)
- 9:00 am – Race starts
Race course and road closures
Residents: Please plan for rolling road closures from 8:45 to 10 am, along the race course, on:
- Veterans Memorial Drive E
- S. Bridge Street (between Veterans Memorial Drive E and 5th Street)
- 5th Street to Center Street to 4th Street to Hamilton Street
- Southside Avenue (between Hamilton Street and Loeser Avenue)
- Loeser Avenue
- Nimitz Street to Watson Street
- Fairview Avenue to James Street to Main Street (back to Veterans Memorial Drive E)
Runners
- Please line up according to speed– the fastest runners should be up front, and walkers, dogs, and strollers towards the rear.

- View race results
- Gift certificates from Casa Luna and Gabriel’s Fountain Kitchen & Creamery will be awarded randomly
- The overall M/F winners will receive a $150 VISA card and a trophy
- A trophy will be awarded to the team with the greatest number of participants
- Medals will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers in the following divisions

We will be collecting items for the Somerville Alliance for Food Education (SAFE). Please consider bringing donations of:
- Shelf Stable Food: canned milk, instant coffee, tea, juices, pasta, rice, canned/jarred fruits and vegetables, cooking oils, canned meals, cold and hot cereals, peanut butter, jelly, canned soups, canned tuna, salmon and meats, dried/canned beans, dried fruit, nuts
- Hygiene Products: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, mouthwash, toothpaste and toothbrushes, deodorant, diapers (newborn to adult sizes), wipes (body and baby), menstrual products, face wash, household cleaning supplies, toilet paper, tissues, sunscreen, combs and brushes, chapstick/lip balm, hand soap, reusable water bottles, hand sanitizer
