We’re hoping for a good amount of packable snow next week so we can kick-off the Snow Buddy/Creature Contest, hosted by the Recreation Committee. All you have to do is build a snow buddy (or snow creature), take a picture, and email it to us. We will share photos on social media for everyone to vote for their favorite snow sculpture!
The dates below are tentative, pending snow accumulation. If the weather does not cooperate, we will post the new dates here and on social media.
Rules
- Creators and creatures must reside in Somerville
- You may build your snow creature in your yard or at a park in Somerville
- All creatures must be family friendly and non-offensive
Enter the contest
- Email a photo of your snow creature to KGerndt@SomervilleNJ.org by 4 pm on February 14
- Include your name and address in the email. We will not share personal information.
Vote on social media
- We will post all photos on the Somerville Recreation’s Facebook and Instagram pages
- Vote from February 15 to 17 by clicking “like” on your favorite snow creature photo
- You do not need to make a creature to participate in voting
Winners
- At the end of the voting period, the top 3 snow creatures with the most “likes” will win a prize
- The Somerville Recreation Committee has the final ruling on any ties or questions
