Seasonal Recreation Program Coordinator
Hours: Seasonal, Hourly

The Borough has a seasonal opportunity, up to 40 hours per week, during various days of the week. Working conditions include outdoor work in which the applicant may be exposed to the sun, hot weather and humidity.
Position is hourly and does not include any health benefits. Other benefits are governed by statute. Local residents are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Routine unskilled and skilled manual work at aquatic facilities
- Assist with park programming at pool and aquatic facilities
- Create and administer games and contests creating a fun aquatic environment
- Check pool passes for entrance into facility
- General cleanup at facility
- Maintain a log and record of activities
- Must assist in enforcing rules and regulations
Summer Lifeguards
Do you or someone you know need a summer job? American Pool is currently hiring lifeguards at the Michael Lepp Pool (22 Park Avenue). No experience is necessary, but applicants must be at least 15 years old and know how to swim. Local students are encouraged to apply.

Parking Enforcement Officer
Hours: Part-Time (Evening)

Description
Position is responsible for enforcement of Pay Station and Electronic Street Meters. Work is performed outdoors, in varying weather conditions.
A part-time position is available Monday through Friday (early evenings). Position does not offer any health benefits. Hourly wage is competitive.
Responsibilities
- Operate a handheld enforcement device and cellular or two-way communication device
- Communicate effectively in a friendly manner
- Assist with public events and barricade placement
- May be required to provide assistance with collection system
Qualifications
- HS Diploma required
- Valid NJ Driver’s License with an excellent driving record (municipal vehicle will be provided).
- Ability to walk for periods at a time.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English clearly. Bi-lingual a plus.
- Candidates must pass a criminal background check.
- Successful candidate shall wear a uniform and maintain a professional appearance.
- Experience with enforcement of IPS meters a plus.
- Ideal candidates have an interest in law enforcement or economic development.
Seasonal Laborer

Description
This position reports to a supervisor and would regularly work with other personnel. This position includes routine unskilled manual work performing maintenance on public property. Working conditions include outdoor work performed in weather conditions in which the incumbent may be exposed to adverse weather conditions. Indoor work is usually performed under shop conditions in which the incumbent may be subject to some discomfort such as noise, etc.
Qualifications
Candidates for this position must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, and a valid NJ Driver’s License. The incumbent should possess the ability to learn job tasks through on-the-job training with the ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions, while being able to perform assigned work tasks in a timely fashion, without direct supervision constantly available. Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position.
Duties
- Perform manual tasks in connection with the maintenance, care, upkeep, repair, marking, and beautification of highways, streets, parking lots and other Borough property such as cutting grass, and grading and rolling of asphalt, gravel, stone and any other material; cleaning, repairing and installation of culverts, catch basins drains and ditches; patching, paving and repair of highways, streets, sidewalks and other Borough property; and general cleaning of roads.
- Sweeps sidewalks and roads; rakes and mows lawns; pick up and haul debris
- Cleans and washes, in connection with the maintenance and operation of the Department of Public Works and related buildings.
- Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
- Empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; empty/clean cigarette urns
- Replace light bulbs. Wash walls and equipment.
- Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an incidental basis.
