Fire Department
The Somerville Fire Department serves to protect the lives and property of the citizens of Somerville, provide training and supervision to the members of the Somerville Fire Department, and provide public fire education and prevention to the citizens of Somerville. The Department has been proudly serving the Borough of Somerville since 1835.
Rescue Squad
The Somerville Rescue Squad is an all volunteer organization serving the community since 1928. The squad is the oldest inland rescue squad in New Jersey and one of the oldest non-hospital based EMS agency in the United States.
The Rescue Squad is comprised of over 80 volunteers faithfully serving the residents and visitors of Somerville and Raritan. The squad is always looking for volunteer members.
