December 20: NJ American Water is aware of taste and odor issues and will continue flushing the water system. We are anticipating 1 to 2 inches of snow tonight into Saturday morning. Black ice is possible. Residents have 12 daylight hours to clear snow from sidewalks once the precipitation has ended.

Theresa Bonner

3-year term: January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2026

Originally from Corning, NY, Theresa moved to Somerville in 2006. After living all over the country, Somerviile was the first place that truly felt like home. She fell in love with the people, businesses and walkability of the town. In 2007, she married her husband Kofi and they started their family.

In 2013, Theresa felt compelled to get more involved in the community, by joining the Municipal Alliance and Youth Services Commission. Over her 3-year term, she served as commission member and then co-chair. During this time, she was able to help allocate funds to local organizations that are committed to creating anti-addiction programs. During this time period, Theresa also returned to school to earn a certificate in nutritional counseling through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York City. She used her training to be a health coach, published author and public speaker.

In 2018, Theresa started her own business manufacturing natural skincare products that were sold online, wholesale and at vendor events. After 3 years, she opened a brick and mortar boutique on Division Street in downtown Somerville with her mother in-law, Shirley. In 2021, shortly after opening the boutique, she was recruited to join the Downtown Somerville Alliance board as a local business owner. During that time, she served as a member of the marketing and events committees.

Through her business, committees and board appointments, she has worked tirelessly to improve her community one relationship at a time.
