Councilmember
Andrew Conte
3-year term: January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2027
Somerville is the best place to build a better future.
Andrew was born in 1986 in New York and grew up in East Brunswick in Middlesex County. After graduating from Rutgers in 2009, Andrew began his career in energy engineering and planning. His work has mostly involved assisting public schools, municipalities, counties, colleges, universities, and healthcare networks with the assessment, development, and installation of advanced energy solutions to manage costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
Andrew and his wife, Gabriela, joined the awesome Somerville community in 2018. They have two young children. They chose to make Somerville home because Somerville is the best place to build a better future for their family, friends, and community.
In 2022, Andrew volunteered to participate in the Flooding Ad-Hoc Committee, and in 2024, Andrew was elected to Council. While on Council, Andrew is interested in addressing the complex issues that have no easy answers and require an ecosystem of ideas and voices, such as flooding in the Borough, keeping Somerville affordable and attractive to all, and sustainability.
