Through a shared service initiative, the Borough of Somerville utilizes the services of the Somerset County Engineering Department. The County Engineering Department provides all engineering related services to the Borough for construction projects within the Borough of Somerville.

The Borough employs a full-time, Assistant to the Engineer who is located in Borough Hall to assist with any questions and regarding Engineering related issues.

 

Somerville’s Voluntary Sidewalk Improvement Program for Residential Property Owners

The Sidewalk Improvement Program allows residents to replace all or part of an existing sidewalk, or driveway apron. You may also install a new sidewalk where none currently exists.

The Borough will assemble the applications, advertise and award the construction contact, and inspect the work to ensure quality.

The Sidewalk Improvement Program for Residential Property Owners is an excellent opportunity to make sidewalk repairs or installations that you may have been putting off. It is another way we’re making Somerville a better place for all of us.
